Botanical Propaganda is a Canadian beauty, relaxation & wellness Company that makes uncomplicated yet luxurious natural products in small batches to ensure ultimate freshness! We also do our best to source  locally to ensure quality and for Mother Earth's Sustainability. The ingredients used in our products are pure but powerful- featuring the best skin-nourishing carrier oils, luxurious clays, scents and Essential Oils!  All our products are vegan, cruelty free, free of parabens and phthalates.  You can find Botanical Propaganda in many independent shops, boutiques and salons around Canada.


St Jacobs Candle Co. 

St Jacobs Candles started in 2016 by Deidre & Peter Zervos, St Jacobs Candle Co. is a family-grown business that is founded on the core principles of quality & transparency. 
From a kitchen table side-line, to an established business in the local community, our team now pour, pack and ship thousands of candles every month from our studio space in Waterloo County. Working only with 100% soy wax, every single candle is still made by hand from beginning to end. The candle fragrances our team creates are recognizable scents which are comforting and familiar. We only use premium, paraben and phthalate-free fragrances

You can find both St Jacobs Candle Co. & Botanical Propaganda in many independent shops, cafes, hair salons, boutiques, markets, Home Hardware Stores and seasonally at L.L. Beans across Canada.

We have two locations at the St Jacobs Farmers Market, on the 2nd floor of the Main Market building, and our Flagship store, where the magic happens and we pour our natural soy candles, at the "Colony House."

In 2016, coming from a corporate background, Deidre was at a cross-roads in her career and decided to gamble on herself, chasing her passions and starting up BP (Botanical Propaganda). She is the Swiss-army knife of the business, engaged in the production, ideation and retail of the business.

Co-Owner of Business

Peter is the resident chandler and co-owner of St Jacobs Candle Co. and BP. Coming from a background in finance, Peter received his MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and is counted on for his business strategy. When he is not pouring candles, he is a Professor in the Business Department at Conestoga College.

Vice President of Sales & Managing Partner

Alex also hails from a business background, also holding an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, injecting new blood into the business alongside his sister, Mariah. He is the direct liaison for wholesale accounts and the in-house graphic designer for the brand.

Social Media Director and Vice President of Marketing

Mariah is a co-owner of Botanical Propaganda, where her passion for wellness, creativity, and community shapes much of the brand’s heart. She leads the creation and production of the product line, guiding each item from raw botanical ingredients to finished goods, while also serving as Social Media Director and Marketer. Through both product development and customer connection, Mariah helps ensure the brand remains rooted in quality, mindfulness, and everyday self-care.
